In light of eternity, our lives appear as brief moments. Yet we cannot comprehend the loving care God has for every single second of these lives. My hope is to give you a window into His love, joy and strength found in our ordinary days.

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day with my mom this year.  It's actually the first time in years I've been with her on the actual day.  Being a Children's Pastor meant I needed to be in Wooster with my kiddos, and Mom always spent the morning with her mother and sisters.  This was the first Mother's Day since Grandma passed away...bittersweet.
Look closely and you'll see Robin, as in Batman's favorite sidekick, creepin' in our photo!
My beautiful Mother's Day gifts!

Sidewalk Chalk and Shades

We had a few gloriously sunny days last week.  It was the perfect chance to soak up some rays while perfecting our sidewalk artistry.

Creating his favorite piece, "The Rocketship."

And I got in on the doodling too, creating quite the "Ode to Six Years of Wedded Bliss" prompted by our anniversary the following day!  Steve laughed at my depiction of our budding romance.  Meeting at CBC; the fun we had with all of our friends (You can see clearly that he belonged to what my friends and I referred to as the "wolf pack"- a bunch of soccer playing boys who were too busy having fun to worry about women); the hilariously embarrassing moment when I dressed as a ninja turtle during Spinster Spree; his proposal at a lake near Mt. Rainier; and finally our wedding.

It really is so fun to think back to those days, six years ago!  Love him very much!

Puddle Jumping!

This one is dedicated to my friends Kim Kelly and Christina Leonard.  I think they were the last people I purposely played in puddles with.  Don't know what possessed us to do it, maybe it was finals week, but we splashed through every puddle CBC had to offer.  Just remember lots of laughing, getting completely soaked, and receiving plenty of crazy looks from our classmates.

Blake and I had just as much fun!
This is what rain boots were made for!

Really?  You really WANT me to jump in these puddles?

This IS fun!
I love making memories with my little boy.  Someday when he's all grown up and receiving telephone calls for "Mr. Blake Patient," I'll smile and remember these days of puddle jumping, hunting frogs and collecting sticks.  Thank you, Lord for these precious days.

Happy Easter!

Last week was a busy one for the Patients.  Both Network Conference and Fine Arts Festival for the Ohio Assemblies of God churches were in full swing, which meant we saw very little of Steve.  Blake and I did head over to the convention center and saw lots of old friends.  Love that!  And we even managed to squeeze in a couple of lunches with Steve.  In the midst of the craziness I forgot all about posting Easter pictures!
Loving these adorable "fishy" eggs that my mother-in-law sent.  I think Blake had just as much fun playing with the eggs themselves as eating the M&M's and fruit snacks hidden inside!

Figuring out how to pop them open!

The only picture I took before church.  A fact that I would come to regret when he soaked his pants in the church nursery!  Notice the Spiderman wristwatch.

I put my sewing skills to use and made him this fun bow tie!  I will definitely be making more.  Maybe for Uncle Nathan's wedding rehearsal?
